He illuminates his own personal role in its acquisition along with C.G. Jung. Dated around the 2nd-3rd century AD, the Valentinian writings included in the Jung Codex (in particular the <i>Gospel of Truth<\/i> which may have been written by the famous Christian Gnostic Valentinus) show that Gnosticism was grounded in a profound religious experience.
