The relationship that develops between therapist and client within the context of long-term psychotherapeutic treatment is generally recognized by all schools of depth psychology and psychoanalysis as a critical factor in the change and healing processes. Analytical (Jungian) Psychology has a unique perspective on this relationship, which is grounded in a perspective on the relation between conscious and unconscious psychological dynamics in both the individuals involved and in the close relationship that develops between individuals engaged in psychotherapy. Dr. Jacoby will speak on this subject from many years of clinical experience as a Jungian psychoanalyst.
