We can see these texts as records of numinous experience expressed in symbolic language. If we can translate the text into psychological terms we can \u201cilluminate the hidden chambers of the soul\u201d as Jung writes, and that can help cure our modern disorientation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the greatest of all western sacred texts is that which is known as the Hebrew Bible (by Jews) or the Old Testament (by Christians and Muslims). As such, it is a tremendous storehouse of wisdom if we can make the subtle move to navigate between theological and historical readings \u2013 that is, by seeing it symbolically. This course is intended for both beginners and experts as it will cover the main story arcs of Bible and also present a way of reading any sacred text from a respectful but distinctly psychological point of view.
