This talk on <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Jun<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">g\u2019s radicalism includes connecting it to Susan\u2019s new work writing mystery novels. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">By deploying Jungian techniques to explore the spontaneity of the archetypal <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">psyche, the stories<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid22\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid23\" class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">discover<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid24\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid25\" class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">key patterns and myths that in<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">form today\u2019s collective <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">fears and tra<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">umas. Such acts of Jungian arts<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">&#8211;<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">based research are<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid26\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid27\" class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">research,<\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid28\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid29\" class=\"markedContent\"> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">as is all art <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that collaborates with the collective unconscious in its making and\/or reception. Jung <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">knew this in demonstrating the prophetic and revelatory nature of creativity. <\/span><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid30\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid31\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid32\" class=\"markedContent\"><\/span><span id=\"page3R_mcid33\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Historical ass<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">essments of Jung might conclude he was a conservative with <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">revolutionary ideas given his social shortcomings and radical approach to cultural <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">symbolism. Historical assessments are no longer enough since they imply a singular <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">vision, exactly the kind of vis<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">ion that Jung disavowed when diagnosing modernity as <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">chronically sick because of a psyche split from all that is designated \u2018other\u2019 to rational <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">consciousness. Susan\u2019s talk will excavate the radical, feminist and transdisciplinarity<\/span><br role=\"presentation\" \/><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">hidden depths in his wor<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">k in order to support a revised social justice worldview. One <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of many possibilities from this C. G.
