The problems that people, families, organizations, communities, and the world face today, from
\nclimate disasters, ecological ruptures, social justice conflicts, lack of access to education, rights
\nto one\u2019s body and decisions about that body, physical and mental health, and economic fairness,
\nto the despoliation of air, water, and soil, are not new. These interrelated problems stem from
\nhuman narratives and their practices \u2013 from our psychology.
\nOverarching ecological principles and processes are studied psychologically because humans are
\necological and function with the very same planetary processes.<\/p>\n
Ecology offers an extraordinary understanding of one\u2019s psychology.
\nThe study of ecological psychology necessarily takes us out of a confined \u201cself or I\u201d and into \u201cwe\u201d
\nthat resituates us in a shared ecological world in a more relational manner.<\/p>\n
Our focus will be in the first process of Energy Exchange. We\u2019ll examine a few ecological and
\npsychological examples to get a better understanding of how narratives have an efficacy of their
