Our world is being torn apart by tremendous oppositional forces, be they political, social, financial, or environmental. Opposites abound accompanied by fears of increasing polarization and disintegration. Jung\u2019s view of psyche is rooted in an appreciation of opposites and the roles they play in life. Jung found that creatively embracing life\u2019s \u2018inexplicable and paradoxical\u2019 nature leads to wholeness and a more soulful connection to the world. In this presentation I explore Jung\u2019s work on understanding the paradoxical nature of opposites and how we can apply this understanding to living in balance with ourselves and the world around us. To do so requires us to engage with transrational ways of knowing. I consider various dimensions of \u2018extraordinary\u2019 knowing that influenced Jung\u2019s view of psyche and our relationship with the world. I describe how synchronicity creatively complements a purely rational worldview placing us in service to the\u00a0paradoxical<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
