Join us in the picturesque medieval village of Assisi, Italy-selected for its inherent connection with the confluence of matter and Psyche – for a conference offering clinicians a unique opportunity to explore how Psyche and archetypes literally shape the dynamics unfolding within the psychotherapeutic relationship (download and view the full program schedule further below).<\/p>\n

From the moment therapy begins, a series of universal, archetypal processes are initiated, leading to either transformative or deeply disturbing experiences. However, in both, we recognize the profound influence of Psyche in creating these dynamics. Drawing from the earliest treatment practices of the Asclepiads in 46 AD and extending to modern therapy, we will see how these archetypal dynamics are etched into the Psyche, drawing both patient and therapist into an innate, pre-figured, archetypal field.<\/p>\n

We will take an in-depth look at how the actual conditions of treatment serve as gateways for Psyche and the emergence of these archetypal re-enactments into the therapeutic relationship. So too we will discuss how these conditions of treatment allow for a resurgence of early defenses against trauma and loss. Rather than seeing any of these activities as unfortunate, iatrogenic occurrences, instead they represent an unfolding of archetypal potentialities into matter, providing both client and therapist the opportunity to become conscious of these dynamics. To make manifest such internal psychic states teaches us that indeed; \u201cField precedes Form\u201d and that the Creative Psyche is present in every aspect of our life.<\/p>\n

However, failure to grasp these dynamics may lead therapists to miss the opportunities to assist their clients in the meaningful unfolding of their life and destiny, and thereby unconsciously perpetuate a series of unconscious – and sometimes tragic – cycles and patterns.<\/p>\n

This exploration offers a firsthand encounter with the living reality of the soul and the dynamic essence of Psyche and the archetypes. It is this recognition of Psyche\u2019s presence which ultimately makes treatment a numinous and profoundly spiritual experience.<\/p>\n

During this conference we will provide an in-depth exploration of the archetypal nature of treatment. Through theoretical presentations and live supervision of participants\u2019 clinical work, we will look to clients\u2019 dreams, unconscious communications, symbolic representation of trauma, and the dynamics occurring within the therapeutic-interactional field, as ways to understand and work with these mysterious and fascinating \/enigmatic dynamics.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
