Terrellyn Fearn is Snake Clan, and a member of Glooscap First Nation in Mi\u2019kma\u2019ki. As Co-Director of Turtle Island Institute, she brings wisdom and understanding of Indigenous well-being and community building through rematriation and Indigenous ways of knowing. Terrellyn has extensive experience<\/p>\n
decolonizing programs, Indigenizing practice, and facilitating healing through this lens. Her work over the last 25 years has focused on advancing social justice and systems change in the area of health, gender-based violence, education, and healing. She is privileged to have worked with over 340 rural and urban Indigenous communities throughout Turtle Island. In 2017, she was the Director of Outreach and Support Services for the Canadian National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) and led a 2.5-year process for family members and survivors of violence to share their truth. She sits on the Indigenous Advisory Circle for the Office of the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime focused on the decolonization of the Canadian criminal justice system.<\/p>\n
The Land Peace Foundation was founded by Sherri Mitchell and provides consultation and educational programs related to Indigenous land guardianship, land and water protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Traditional Indigenous Knowledge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
