When we asked Jim Hollis who we might invite to do our \u201cfree fundraiser,\u201d he suggested his colleague Gus Czwik, and we were delighted at the suggestion.\u00a0 So we are delighted to offer Gus Czwik\u2019s lecture, \u201cBetter Living through Alchemy or Dying with Life.\u201d Gus has a marvelous sense of humor and is one of the most revered U.S. analysts and is very able to make topics like alchemy clear.\u00a0 And that is tough!\u00a0 Alchemy, as we know from grade school, is a process to turn lead into gold.\u00a0 With modern chemistry, we think that is fundamentally unlikely.\u00a0 But, wait! There are many manuscripts of the alchemical process\u2014from the sixteenth through the nineteenth centuries, and they are all very similar, but not exactly the same.\u00a0 The process depends on both the date of origin and the author of the text.\u00a0 We are fortunate that Jung read the primary alchemists and distilled the process for us in three volumes (Collected Works (CW) 12, 13 and 14).\u00a0 However, as you know if you have read them, the process is still pretty daunting! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also please remember that this is our \u201cfree fundraiser.\u201d\u00a0 We began this during the shutdown\u2014if you are in a condition where you need a gift, then please accept this lecture as a gift from us.\u00a0 If you are in a position to support others (including the Jung Society of Washington!) then please leave a donation.\u00a0 Every donation is helpful.\u00a0 Our goals are three-fold:\u00a0 We want to continue to provide great programs for you and we want to continue to provide Jungian lecturers with a fair recompense for their scholarship.\u00a0 Finally, we use donations to provide scholarships for people who study Jung but need some help.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year we surprised our goal of $10,000. This year we are pushing that goal another $2,000. Alongside our $12,000 goal, we are excited to announce that any gift of any sized with be graciously matched by an anonymous donor. No donation is too big or small. Our $10,000 goal last year was surpassed by a $10 donation! If you think your donation doesn’t impact, think again! So, decide what level of support you are able to give, or what support you need, and proceed accordingly.\u00a0 We are grateful for all donations!<\/span><\/p>\n
