The present seminar will aim to engage more deeply with the philosophical position of metaphysical idealism, an ontology that takes Consciousness as the sole constituent of reality. To this end, the tradition of Western idealism as represented in the work of Schopenhauer and Kastrup\u2019s \u2018Analytical Idealism\u2019 will be introduced and explored. Ultimately, this foundational understanding of idealism will be used to defend the claim, in opposition to the majority of current Jungian scholars, that Jung himself was fully committed to idealism in both his philosophical and psychological writing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-8d c1-8e c1-b c1-c c1-d c1-e c1-f c1-g\">Having established idealism as the cornerstone of Jungian psychology, we will turn to an analysis of the lived idealism of the Sufi mystic Ibn Arabi, aligned with that of Rumi, in order to engage with the direct \u2018existential\u2019 implications of idealist philosophy. To this end, Ibn Arabi\u2019s notion of the\u00a0<em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1f c1-1g c1-b c1-88 c1-1u c1-1r c1-89 c1-8a\">Mundus Imaginalis,\u00a0<\/em>or \u2018world of imagination\u2019, will be explored in terms of its mirroring relationship to the technique of\u00a0<em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1f c1-1g c1-b c1-88 c1-1u c1-1r c1-89 c1-8a\">active imagination<\/em>\u00a0as discovered by Jung in his Red Book experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-8d c1-8e c1-b c1-c c1-d c1-e c1-f c1-g\"><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1f c1-1g c1-b c1-88 c1-1u c1-1r c1-89 c1-8a\">&#8220;You fall, and I want to fall with you, whoever you are.
