The Tao is elusive and evasive and yet it is always present and operates in a mysterious way, the way of \u201cnon-doing\u201d. It is said that by the way of \u201cnon-doing\u201d nothing is left undone.<\/p>\n
In this seminar we will explore the way of \u201cnon-doing\u201d in the context of Jungian psychotherapy.<\/p>\n
The seminar will begin with a discussion of the story of \u201cThe Rainmaker\u201d, a favorite story of Jung, in which the way of \u201cnon-doing\u201d is beautifully expressed. The seminar will then examine the factors that facilitate this mysterious working of the Tao.<\/p>\n
We will then discuss how analysts and analysands can best open themselves to the way of \u201cnon-doing\u201d and encounter the working of the Tao in the analytical process.<\/p>\n
The seminar will also examine what it is about Jungian psychotherapy that lends itself naturally to the direct experience of the Tao in the present age.<\/p>\n
The seminar is discussion based. Participants will be presented with selected passages from various Taoist texts and the writings of C.G. Jung. These passages serve primarily as baits to elicit responses coming from within our depth.<\/p>\n
