A sequence of two connected presentations exhibit that Germanic mythology, frequently assumed to be primitive and barbarian, contains fundamental myths of individuation. The first presentation introduces essential elements of modern times that were developed in the Norse culture, but where repressed and demonized by Christianity. An evaluation of Ragnar\u00f6k follows which is not an end time myth, but bring to mind sustainability and the rebirth of the New Earth. The second talk focuses entirely upon the main god of the Norse pantheon, Odin. It is shown that Odin prepares the future of humanity by integrating the mysteries of the Great Goddess with his self-sacrifice on the World Tree.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part 1: Germanic Mythology and the New Eon<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Much of the basic European cultures are not part of our classical education. However, Germanic mythology provides essential elements to embark upon our journey into the modern times. Neglected, demonised, repulsed and repressed by Christianity the significance of Germanic mythology should be rediscovered. The Twilight of the Gods, Ragnar\u00f6k, is not a Germanic form of apocalypse. On the contrary, it is the premonition of a cyclical conception of time and a sustainable future.
