The Jung Society of Washington is delighted to welcome this year\u2019s Free Fundraiser lecture with world-renowned Jung scholar and author\u00a0Sonu Shamdasani, whose groundbreaking work has transformed contemporary understanding of the life and writings of Jung. This year\u2019s lecture offers a fascinating glimpse into the formative years of Jung\u2019s clinical and psychological work. Long before Jung became the towering figure many of us know through his later writings, he was a young doctor entering the halls of the Burgh\u00f6lzli psychiatric hospital, confronting firsthand the realities of mental illness, human suffering, and the mysteries of the psyche. This presentation invites us into that early world and into the beginnings of ideas that would shape analytical psychology for generations to come.<\/p>\n
