Join us on the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland for this special Spring Equinox workshop, where we will explore the Tree as a pre-eminent symbol of self-unfolding.<\/p>\n

The Tree is an archetypal symbol of growth, renewal and transformation.\u00a0 The Swiss psychologist C.G. Jung described how the process of psychological development which he called individuation was designated \u2018The Philosophical Tree\u2019, a poetic comparison that draws an analogy between the natural growth of the psyche and that of a plant.\u00a0 The philosopher\u2019s tree or tree of wisdom was to be sought inside: for a transformation of consciousness to take place, one had to seek and know this inner tree.\u00a0 Jung observed in his clinical practice that the tree often held particular resonance for women as a symbol of the Self, the archetype of wholeness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In this workshop we will explore the Tree as a symbol of the sacred and a guiding archetype for our times, particularly in an age of fragmentation, overwhelm and uncertainty.\u00a0 We will consider the tree\u2019s appearance in mythological and indigenous traditions, ritual (including the history of memorial Avenues of Honour), fairytales, art, poetry, philosophical and alchemical writings and psycho-therapeutic practice,\u00a0 as well as in the dreams and visions of ancient and contemporary seekers and seers.\u00a0\u00a0We\u2019ll explore these ideas through a combination of lectures with rich visual imagery combined with time and space for contemplation, conversation, reflections on our lived experience, and creative \/ imaginal practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

If you are someone with an enquiring mind and a creative approach to life, if you work (or have worked) in the helping professions, if you appreciate metaphor and imagination as modes of comprehension, if you\u2019re a nature-lover – or simply have an affinity with trees! \u2013 then this workshop will benefit you. You\u2019ll leave feeling enriched, nourished and revitalised, with a greater sense of kinship and deepened insight into the mystery of your unfolding self.<\/p>\n
