This is a quote from an African man, who was transported through the storm of a genocide far from his people, his culture, his language and his soul.
\nI will present here the testimony in a psychiatric practice of an extreme destiny. I will add theoretical reflections on psychodynamics and the function of symbols in psychic trauma. I will also describe transference and countertransference in this extraordinary encounter of two people with very different roots and cultures.
