Archetypes in the Machine: Jungian Analysis and AI<\/em><\/a>, a half-day online conference taking place on June 27, 2026.<\/p>\nThe event brings together four speakers, each approaching the topic from a distinct angle. Stephen Garratt opens with an accessible account of what AI actually is and how rapidly it is developing, grounding the conversation in the reality of the technology before the deeper psychological exploration begins. Patrycja Jackson follows with an astrological and cultural reading of this epochal moment, situating the emergence of AI within the broader spirit of the times. Orsolya Luk\u00e1cs then explores the archetypal and imaginal dimensions of AI, drawing on myths of the “other” to ask what analytical psychology’s rich tradition of engaging with the non-human might offer us here. Richard Jenkins closes the presentations with a reading of Jung’s own encounters with non-human intelligences in the Red and Black Books, alongside the story of John Dee, as a source of archetypal and imaginal resources for our current moment.<\/p>\n
Each presentation runs approximately thirty minutes and is followed by open discussion, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with the ideas being presented. The event concludes with a forward-looking conversation about next steps and the possibility of forming a community of continuing interest around these themes.<\/p>\n
The conference is fully online and will be recorded and made available to all registered participants. Tickets are priced at \u00a330 for AJA members and \u00a345 for non-members.
