Michael Vannoy Adams is a Jungian psychanalyst in New York, where he is a faculty member at the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. <\/p>\n
Adams is the author of four books – among them, The Mythological Unconscious. \u201cOne of the most radical discoveries of Freud and Jung,\u201d Adams says, \u201cis that the unconscious is \u2018mythological\u2019 – the ancient gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines, and fabulous creatures are alive and well in the psyches of modern men and women.\u201d At , the New School for Social Research the famous progressive university in New York, Adams was associate provost, director of a Psychoanalytic Studies Program, and faculty member for three decades. Among the courses he taught for many years at the New School was \u201cPsychoanalyzing Greek and Roman Mythology\u201d. At the Jungian Psychoanalytic Association, Adams taught the course \u201cMythology and Psychology in the Odyssey and the Aeneid.\u201d’.
