The purpose of the C.G. Jung Society, Seattle, is to support a sustainable learning community centered on the life and work of Carl Gustav Jung. We promote Jung's analytical psychology, which emphasizes the development of the whole person as the path to self-knowledge, creativity, and well-being. At the Society, we examine the interplay of the conscious and the unconscious through the lens of diverse traditions, including religious, transpersonal, and mythological ones. We organize events such as lectures, workshops, and discussions that offer intellectual, participatory, as well as experiential engagement with Jung's work.Last visited Aug 23/2021 - no events

Alchemy: The Art of Transformation (Jungian Wisdom School Seminar)

C. G. Jung first turned to Alchemy for personal illumination in coping with trauma brought on by his break with Freud. Alchemical symbolism eventually suggested to Jung that there was a process in the unconscious, one that had a goal beyond discharging tension and hiding pain. This seminar will explore alchemical symbols and transformative processes as they relate to dreams, personal growth, and transformation. We will learn Alchemy by doing Alchemy, guided by the text of the class, the wisdom of the instructor and the experience of the members of the seminar. Dr. Joram wrote her doctoral thesis on Jungʼs theory of alchemy and its value in the process of change, transformation, and individuation.
