This 10-week immersive program invites participants to engage with the complex, nuanced dimensions of C.G. Jung’s analytical psychology.
Whether you are building upon prior study or seeking a more rigorous engagement with these ideas, this course offers a dedicated space to explore the interplay between your inner psychological life and your external experience. This program is designed for those ready to apply these concepts with greater intentionality, helping you cultivate a more conscious relationship with yourself and develop a sophisticated lens through which to observe the patterns of the world.
The course is structured in three movements that mirror psychological process. Each session blends Jungian concepts with experiential exercises and small-group dialogue, giving participants the opportunity not only to learn the material but to encounter it through their own experience.
- Encounter invites participants to notice and become acquainted with the symbolic language of the psyche through dreams, synchronicities, archetypes, and imagination
- Dialogue deepens the relationship by exploring tension, shadow, typology, and the parts of ourselves that challenge or confront the conscious personality
- Integration focuses on holding complexity, recognizing recurring patterns, and developing a more conscious relationship with inner life as an ongoing practice
Rather than moving in a straight line, the course circles back through themes in widening spirals, allowing insights to deepen through repetition, reflection, and new connections over time.
We will cultivate a practice of symbolic interpretation and psychological depth, covering:
- Dream Work: Refine your capacity to engage with dreams through active imagination and objective analysis. Includes guided dream-work sessions.
- Active Imagination: Master this essential technique to facilitate a direct, ongoing dialogue with the unconscious.
- Shadow Work: Engage in a three-part intensive focused on reclaiming projections, integrating the shadow, and sustaining a meaningful internal dialogue.
- Psychic Energy & The Transcendent Function: Explore the movement of libido and learn to hold the “tension of opposites” to allow for the emergence of symbols from the unconscious.
- Synchronicity & Astrology: Analyze Jung’s concept of meaningful coincidence and examine how archetypal patterns in astrology can act as a map of the Self.
- Typology: Examine your psychological type to better navigate your conscious attitude and achieve greater balance between your dominant and inferior functions.
As part of the course, participants will receive a 30-minute individual consultation session with David outside of class time, offering dedicated space to discuss personal questions, insights, and experiences related to the material.
