The Shadow is an archetype and, as such, it is part of the human psyche and needs to be identified, elaborated and transformed. However, what usually occurs is its projection. For elucidation and understanding of the dark aspects of the psyche, clinical cases, myths and dreams are presented. The identification of Shadow in Art is demonstrated by means of fairy tales, films, poems, opera and literature. The conclusion demonstrates the encounter of the Self with the Self, configuring the individuation process.
