This work describes, through the metaphor of a pregnancy and a human birth, the transformation of a body doctor into a soul doctor, through Carl Gustav Jung's analytical psychology. In his several chapters he makes a study verifying the pertinence of drawing a parallel between the birth of a baby and that of an analyst. To do this, the bibliographic material used was mainly works by Jungian authors, and Jung himself. In addition, a complementary medical bibliography was also used to support the technical issues of childbirth and pregnancy. In the introduction, the description of the theme to be worked on, that is, the birth of Esmeralda, was made. In the chapters of pregnancy and childbirth, relevant medical aspects were presented and a relevant parallel was drawn when an analyst was born, within deep psychology.
