Creativity and Shadow-work: Opening the Portal to the Creative Unconscious
This presentation takes the archetype of creativity—preparation, incubation, inspiration, production—and adds the dimension of Shadow. At each stage of the creative process, there are potential unconscious blocks:
What if we procrastinate and cannot begin a project? What if we are distracted? What if our self-talk is sabotaging? What if we cannot complete a project?
I will demonstrate how to use shadow-work to identify these internal saboteurs and learn how to observe them without obeying them. When we honor the shadow and make a relationship with the creative unconscious, our creative endeavors can have more flow than frustration, more joy than disappointment.
