The Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts holds its biennial invitational conference on October 23–24, 2026. This year’s theme, “The Dynamisms That Move Us,” examines the power dynamics behind what is considered the culture’s competing voices: those who are silenced, ignored, or muted, and those loud enough to drown others out.
Friday opens with Jacqueline Zeller Levine on individuation and the courage to answer the inner call to be seen, followed by Christina Becker on Sophia and the persistence of feminine wisdom under patriarchal God-images. Katharine Bainbridge explores what emerges when we descend beneath ideology into symbolic imagination, and Erica Lorentz examines the body as shadow through Jung’s mythopoetic lens and Iain McGilchrist’s neuroscience. The day closes with a panel on Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, unpacking shadow, feminine embodiment, and individuation through play.
Saturday begins with Marilyn Matthews on Eros and the myth of Amor and Psyche, followed by Randi Nathenson on sexual violence, race, and the archetypal dimensions of women’s rage. Mary Wells Barron turns to Anselm Kiefer’s engagement with the myth of Lilith, and Gus Cwik closes the conference with a clinical look at mirroring, idealisation, and the alchemical third, drawing on Jung, Kohut, and Guggenbühl-Craig.
