Presentation
A society that thinks of itself only from the free action of self-referential individuals, oriented solely to the pursuit of their own interests, is a society incapable of preserving itself. In the long run, only a society with a strong sense of community will be able to offer its citizens concrete opportunities for growth. Where there are only self-loving daffodils, there is no room for recognition of oneself and of others, since relationships of reciprocity are supplanted by mere relations of power. The challenges we face today require us to break out of this regressive model. To do so, however, we must completely revise the dynamics of valorization, which inform our self-recognition: we must learn to deal with other narratives of self, where fragility and vulnerability are not effects of a fault to be assigned to someone, but elements of a condition capable of giving depth and create sharing.

The registration fee is CHF 50.- for the entire Conference and CHF 25.- for single day sessions.

Transport
Please, note that there are no parking places at Eranos. You may reach Eranos from Ascona by bus (no. 316) or by taxi cab.
Lunches
The fee for lunches is of CHF 30.- /day. It is recommended to register for meals because there are no opportunities nearby.
Language
The lectures will be either in French, English, or in Italian, depending on the speaker.
