In this 2023 virtual book launch for Dr. Fanny Brewster’s Race and the Unconscious, Dr. Brewster’s important work is honored through the heartfelt commentary from a range of speakers. Race and the Unconscious “offers readers a rich framework for exploring and understanding the language, images, and symbols of African and African American dreamlife” (Routledge). The book challenges Eurocentric—and at times Jungian—blindness to African values, and examines the effects of this blindness on Black people in the Americas.
