“It is nothing less than a revelation when something altogether strange rises up to confront one from the hidden depths of the psyche, something that is not one’s ego and is therefore beyond the reach of one’s personal will. One has regained access to the sources of psychic life, and this marks the beginning of the cure.” —C. G. Jung (CW 11, §534)
What does Jung say to us today that can bring healing into our own lives and into the lives of humankind? What ideas resonate within us now? How do they engage with us? Seekers and students alike have found Jung’s ideas to be: accessible, relevant and compassionate; he conveys calming, balanced perspectives on how to live a complete life through increased consciousness. In this two-part series, we will explore some passages from Jung’s writings and talks*, as well as his images from dreams and visions, so we can contemplate together what is touched and inspired in our own thoughts, emotions, dreams and memories.
*These passages will be drawn primarily from The Red Book, The Dream Seminar, The Visions Seminar, Letters (Vols. 1 & 2) and Jung Speaking. A copy of the quotations and complete bibliography will be provided on day of presentation.
