Jung posited a religious function of the psyche which manifested first as individual numinous experiences and transformed by collective identification into religious ritual and dogma. This lecture, and the workshop that follows, will consider and reflect upon Jung’s exposition and analysis of the religious function of the psyche, with special attention to the phenomena individuals encounter as numinous appearances. The workshop that follows will also propose a different interpretation of the phenomena of numinosity. So, come for both.
