Selected Breakout sessions at the 2025 IAAP Congress

As the upcoming IAAP International Congress for Analytical Psychology draws nearer, we are delighted to offer you a glimpse into some of the engaging breakout panel sessions scheduled for the congress. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of topics presented by leading experts in the field. This article provides a chronological overview of selected presentations, highlighting key discussions and the esteemed presenters involved.

The congress kicks off on Monday, 25 August 2025. From 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Denise Gimenez Ramos and Liliana Liviano Wahba will present on “Greek myths and their deleterious messages for today’s women development“. Later that day, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sonu Shamdasani and Caitlin Stephens will discuss “Concerning the Critical Edition of the Works of C. G. Jung“. Moving into Tuesday, 26 August 2025, at 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Harald Atmanspacher and Roderick Main will present “Dual-aspect monist and panentheist approaches toward ineffability in Jung’s thinking“. Concluding Tuesday’s highlights, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., Stephen Garratt, Robert Bosnak, Tine Papič, and Stephen Aizenstat will explore the timely topic of “Artificial Intelligence & Analytical Psychology”.

Thursday, 28 August 2025, promises a packed schedule. Beginning at 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., you can choose between a “Joint Presentation and Panel Discussion on: The Controversy on Archetype Theory” by Christian Roesler, Erik Goodwyn, Jon Mills, and Mark Saban, or “The Mystery of Ending Analysis: A Creative Dialogue” led by Jan Wiener and Henry Abramovitch. Following these, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Alex Sierck and Tiffany Houck-Loomis will present on “Lashing Oneself to the Non-Understandable: The Promise, the Peril, and the Paradox of the Psychoanalytic Voyage“. The day concludes with Gustavo Pessoa and Carmen Livia Girade Parise from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., addressing “Complex Psychology or Jungian Analysis? From collective creativity to the authorship of an individual“.

Finally, Friday, 29 August 2025, presents another set of compelling options. At 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., attendees can learn about the “IAAP Training Working Party – Core competencies” from Mark Winborn. Concurrently, Murray Stein will propose and moderate “A Panel of Former IAAP Presidents: Topic: “Can the IAAP maintain a sense of unity and collegiality in a severely divided world?””. These sessions represent just a selection of the rich programme awaiting attendees, offering expansive explorations of critical theoretical discussions, practical applications, and the future of analytical psychology.
