Building on the Friday lecture on the business of Jung, we will discuss how Jung’s work is showing up today in popular culture. We will evaluate the value of these changes and evolution in Jungian ideas, the dangers, compromises, and where Jungian work is headed. Some guiding questions in our dialogues will be: what is the sine qua non of Jungian ideas, that is, those elements which, if lost or changed, it is no longer “Jungian” work? How have foundational Jungian concepts changed in presentation and understanding today, and what is our evaluation of the benefits and potential opening of these changes, and the losses? We will look at how Jungian ideas are presented differently today and what that means for us; concepts such as Shadow, Unconscious, Anima/Animus, Individuation, Collective Unconscious, and others. How are these ideas oriented, presented, and worked with in Astrology, Personality Type, Neuroscience/Psychological Science, and the Post-Materialist Paradigm (“new sciences”)? Dr. Blandin will present lectures and examples from these fields.
