Overview

The ego has a direction in life; the unconscious has an intention about one’s life; finding the thread linking both direction and intention is a quest.

Jung’s own path was a series of stepping stones in which he brought the two together through his revaluing of the symbolic language of the psyche, through dialogue with the images in the psyche, through active imagination and especially by providing a space for spontaneity where the unconscious found expression.

Jung gave up all outer orientation in his own quest towards what he apprehended as the ultimate goal of the psyche.

Our consciousness has it unconsciousness; the unconscious has its own consciousness, it’s all one piece. Let’s attempt to find this place of unity in ourselves during this course.
