Mannahatta, the once beautiful and sacred ceremonial island to the Manhattan Lenape Tribe, has become a totally gridded urban metropolis, with painfully little green space, except at the centre of the island. Manhattan sits at the heart & centre of New York City. Central Park sits at the heart & centre of Manhattan. The now buried reservoir, sits at the heart & centre of Central Park. This 12 minute video proposes a reinstatement of this reservoir, into which would be placed a memorial sacred ceremonial island of Mannahatta. The story of this island, is the story of the planet; sacred earthly beauty ignored, trodden, and gridded, used and abused as products for monetary gain.
