Based in Rev. Dr. Hancock’s groundbreaking dissertation, Mythic Mapping starts you on the journey to self-discovery utilizing the Jungian Psychology concept of Archetypes. Combining art therapy, active imagination, Journeywork and the investigation of your own favorite myth—this unique program offers a lifetime of opportunities to explore the Self. Conceived as a system for self-analysis for those who have experienced trauma, Mythic Mapping provides an opportunity to be proactive in the Individuation process. For those who are new to Jung or experts in the field, this course will help you look at the psyche in a new way. This 4-week webinar will help you understand the complexities of your inner landscape, guide you to 1 of 4 craft your Mythic Self character, provide space for you to design your own map of interior Archetype islands, and guide you on your first Quest. Provided with the webinar is an introductory PDF “Voyager’s Log” with the first set of Quests to meet your inner Child, Trickster, Hero/Heroine, Shadow and Wise Elder. Come explore the Myth of YOU!

Course Goals and Educational Objectives: (For CEC students)

  • Participants will be able to identify five Jungian Archetypes and how they behave in the Psyche.
  • Participants will be able to explain how myths are acted out in one’s life, with the potential of exploring that concept with clients.
  • Participants will prepare their own Map of their interior archetypal landscape, and for therapists, utilize this method with clients.
  • Participants will be able to identify five aspects of their lives where their internal archetypes guide and transform them. For therapists, this can be used in a clinical setting.
