The Austrian Society for Analytical Psychology (ÖGAP) will be hosting a symposium on the topic of “Intuition: The knowledge of the soul”. The one-day symposium will take place on 01 March 2025 – in person and online. The symposium will be held in German.

This conference brings together experts from various fields, exploring the theme of intuition and its role in science, art, psychology, and mythology. The schedule includes a range of talks, starting with Ernst Peter Fischer’s exploration of the clash between scientific knowledge and intuition, followed by Eva Pattis-Zoja’s discussion on Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work and its connection to the collective unconscious.

Alexandra Kerner will analyze how intuition is portrayed in films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Solaris, while Natalia Serebrennikova and Anna Uhlích will present a mythological narrative illustrating intuition as both a process and an outcome. Stefan Köchel will offer a philosophical perspective on the historical fear of intuition, and Judith Noske will discuss the role of intuition in therapeutic processes with children and adolescents.

The day concludes with a screening of the film Eine Million Sandkörnchen by Andrea Deaglio, exploring nonverbal therapy in crisis situations.
