Divine Wisdom and the Holy Spirit: The Forgotten Feminine Face of God

In this webinar, Anne will introduce her recent book, which is a historical survey of the image of the Divine Feminine. It asks why there is no image of the feminine face of God in the three patriarchal religions and explains when, why and how it was deleted in 623 BCE in the First Temple in Jerusalem and how Christianity inherited only the monotheistic image of God from Judaism. It explores the effects this loss on the relationship between Spirit and Nature and how, with the loss of the Goddess, these became separated and Nature lost her sacredness. It also explores the catastrophic psychological effects of The Myth of the Fall, which was created at the same time as the Goddess, the consort of Yahweh, was deleted from the Hebrew image of God. It ask us to move from the current image of God to a new one which embraces the discoveries of quantum physics, which show how, at the deepest sub-atomic level, we are all connected with each other and with the entire cosmos and how each one of us participates in the life of the divinity we have been worshipping for two thousand years. We do not need the Son of God to save us but to know who we are and what we are part of.
