“What is an “Outlier”? A Visionary? A Mystic? A Shaman?.”
“Mystics are people who have a particularly vivid experience of the processes of the collective unconscious. Mystical experience is experience of archetypes”
It has been said that C. G. Jung was a mystic, a shaman, and certainly that he was a visionary, as in the Red Book.
In this presentation we will discuss what it means to be an “Outlier”, someone who does not fit into society's category as "normal," and seems to be in touch with something from a different reality yet also able to live productively in the more traditional reality.
In addition, “Outliers” often bring something from their experience that appeals to the rest of us, offering healing potential for a wounded world. “Outliers” can speak strongly to the wounding in the soul of other people through recognition of something else ‘beyond’. Those who resonate with their message, can find it inspiring, re-assuring and comforting.
In this lecture, Janis Maxwell will discuss a few of these extraordinary individuals and what they have given to the world.
