Hansel and Gretel: A tale of abandonment, loss, courage and growth

In this presentation we will venture into the forest and explore the fairy tale – Hansel and Gretel. I will offer a depth psychological interpretation of the key motifs and symbols featured in the Hansel and Gretel tale. Woven into the seminar will be opportunities for self-reflection as well as clinical case examples. The theoretical component of this day draws on the work of Jungian analysts: Marie Louise von Franz, Jacqueline Schectman, Hans Dieckmann, Erich Neumann, Theodore Seifert and incorporates the scholarship of psychoanalyst Bruno Bettelheim.

My hope is that by participating you will deepen your knowledge of the archetypal meanings underlying this special fairy tale and consider how these learnings may apply in your own life and/or to your clinical work.
