Hybrid Romanian Conference Voice of Psyche: Archetypes in Clinical Practice

This three-day hybrid English-language seminar is designed for clinicians interested in the workings and presence of Psyche within the therapeutic relationship.
Within this bi-personal therapeutic field, personal and archetypal dynamics are manifested in ways that transference theory alone cannot explain. Instead, conditions of treatment—such as fee, frequency of sessions, inclusion of third parties, and the therapist’s often unconscious interventions—create the ground for non-generative archetypal alignments to take root and become lived realities between client and therapist. This reflects an experience of entrainment rather than transference, revealing how both participants are drawn into a pre-existent archetypal field.

Inspired by Dr. Michael Conforti’s more than 40 years of study and clinical practice, this seminar offers clinicians a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of unconscious processes and the identification of archetypal patterns.

Topics Covered
• The presence of archetypes in clinical practice
• Self-organization in the Psyche and the natural world
• Threshold experiences: the beginning of treatment
• The archetypal nature of therapeutic ground rules
• Unconscious communication: perception and experience
• Discerning archetypal issues in clients’ lives
• The ravages of denial and migration of forgotten contents
• Activation of defense mechanisms from Jungian, ethological, and analytic perspectives
• Dreams as objective commentary on the therapeutic process

This seminar explores the often complex and at times unsettling ways archetypal dynamics manifest within the patient–therapist field.
Dr. Conforti will examine the archetypal forces shaping a life, how to recognize patterns that sustain trauma, and how to support meaningful transformation.
Through lectures and case discussions, participants will learn to engage with the deeper archetypal structures of treatment and understand how their own Psyche interacts within the therapeutic field.
