Experience a blend of movement, breath, sound, and creative expression to practice active imagination and bring unconscious material into conscious awareness.

“Whereas active fantasy, as the product of a conscious attitude not opposed to the unconscious, and of unconscious processes not opposed but merely compensatory to consciousness, does not require criticism so much as understanding.” Jung, CW 6, para. 714

“By means of ‘active imagination’ we are put in a position of advantage, for we can then make the discovery of the archetype without sinking back into the instinctual sphere, which would only lead to blank unconsciousness or, worse still, to some kind of intellectual substitute for instinct.” Jung, CW 8, para. 414

This immersive two-day program invites participants into a deep exploration of the psyche through body, imagination, and expressive practice.

Saturday’s playshop will experientially activate body, soul and spirit energetically through stretching, breath, movement, image, affect, sound, word and art to manifest previously unconscious material into awareness. Sharing will be voluntary. The fee of the playshop for in-person participants will include art supplies. All you need to bring is a notebook, your presence and lunch. Wear comfortable clothes.

Online participants, please have some creative supplies on hand. Look around your space for forgotten supplies or treat yourself with a supply trip for colored pencils, markers, glitter, tissue paper, glue, and string, in colors that appeal to you.
