There is an old saying that, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” Repetition of this kind is the signature of a psyche running on autopilot. But today it’s clear that population increase, plus the increased power of technology, has multiplied the effect of what our culture ‘has always done’ — specifically in a direction that is dangerous and unsustainable.
However, change is possible. The western mind has grown one-sided — brilliantly developed outwardly, undeveloped within — and Jung observed that such one-sidedness carries the seed of its own correction. In this engaging workshop, Professor Sawyer argues that the most efficacious way to improve the world is by ‘changing minds’ via an upgrade in the quality of experiential consciousness.
What might that look like, and how might we affect such change? These are the directives we will explore in this interactive and inspiring workshop to address a healthier, consciousness-based direction for the western mind.
