These symbols and others have been amplified to bring about a conscious expansion and enrichment of these collective symbols. The tale presents the trajectory of two girls; one is considered the heroine and receives the reward at the end of the trajectory. The other, her half sister and antagonist, is lazy and cheating and is therefore punished. The heroine of the tale has the main role for being the girl who is subjected to the tests. There are difficult situations that she must overcome in her initiation ritual, until she reaches maturity, represented by the golden bath, the awakening to the light after a long period of darkness. The figure of great importance and influence in the tale is Frau Holle, an elderly woman, a figure with origins in mythology that can be considered a fairy or a witch. She is the instructor of the girls and represents the image of the Great Mother. Being an archetypal image, she brings duality, the pair of opposites, acting as a Good Mother and also as a Bad Mother. In her good looks, she is generous, nurturing, caring, protecting and rewarding. In its bad aspect, it is cruel, vindictive, punitive, relentless.
