Symbolic Language of the Sandplay Collection and Therapeutic Relationship

This presentation will address how the symbols on sandplay shelves relate to the therapist. The attention of the participants will be playfully brought to the unique setting of the sandplay office, the different levels of personal energy invested in the figurines, and how clients, through the use of our symbols, might express, project and intuit unspoken aspects of the therapeutic relationship. The presentation is based on Jung’s concept of the symbol, the concept of the wounded healer, and the merging of energies in the transference relationship.
