Wounded Healers in a Broken World – Online Series

In this troubled time on earth the need for healing involves the individual soul, humanity on a collective level and the earth itself. The divisions and dissociations in the outer world reflect the nature of psychic wounds and splitting within people.

In acknowledging the wounds within us, we connect to the suffering of the world. It is this shared sense of suffering that reveals how we are all truly inter-connected. We are here to express the creative energies set within our souls, when we do that we not only help heal ourselves, but also find ways to genuinely serve the world.

Myths of the wounded healer relate to our capacity to be at home in the darkness of not knowing and find the inner light of soul and the hidden ground of unity. No better time than the divided times in which we live for seeking the guiding, healing power of the deep self and soul.

Part 1: Healing and Making Whole (24 September)

Wholeness is what all healing seeks, but a genuine transformation requires a descent to the underworld of the soul. There, we find that our woundedness is not a static state, but rather a dynamic condition through which we incarnate more fully. Our wounds teach us about the nature of our being. The inner wound is the instrument through which our intrinsic wholeness becomes more conscious.

Part 2: Finding Medicine, Making Soul (1 October)

Ancient stories depict how each person born carries a precise medicine in their soul. Our psychic wounds secretly connects us to the transcendent function in the soul, so that what wounds us would also initiate and transform us. In that sense, the inner wound can be seen as a womb. In going through the wound we become reborn as an initiate on the path of healing.
