The mystery of the beginning of life as beings in evolution is the mystery that Aphrodite grants us if we look for it, if we ask for it, even if only instinctively, unconsciously.
Without it nothing can happen, it moves the Psyche and dazzles it, agitates it, leaves it an orphan and fills it with desire.
Aphrodite takes Psyche out of the paradise where nothing evolves, the paradise of the collective, where the responsibility lies with the gods or other humans who appear almost like gods; leads to disidentification with the collective to start the path alone.
It is an Initiation that arises from anguish, a search without knowing what is being sought; a different feel. The feeling of not belonging to this world, a lack of something unknown. Aphrodite listens to us, she will come to our aid and perform a miracle, she will take us to heaven and show us who we really are. But first our psyche will have to walk the path and desire it. This path is strewn with renunciation, fear, loneliness, guilt, confusion. All this is necessary for Aphrodite to lead us to meet ourselves.
The Goddess has essential helpers, since in reality everything is one and nothing moves without the movement reaching that whole, like a wave, a network in which humans and gods are immersed. Eros his son, will provoke the beginning of the conflict, the link without which the relationship and the development of events is not possible; it provides energy and movement, fullness and lack.
According to Hesiod, Eros has always existed, is prior to the gods and arises from primordial chaos, establishes the first relationships so that order, the cosmos, which means order for the Greeks, can emerge from chaos. Aphrodite would then be somewhat more evolved, already forming part of an ordered cosmos. Eros has fulfilled its function but it is still necessary because from the unity of chaos the multiple has emerged that must continue to transform itself and this is done thanks to the link that relates and conflicts.
Empedocles (5th century BC) places the beginning of the universe and life in the power of Aphrodite, who represents Love, the force that gathers and creates life, as opposed to Hate that disintegrates and destroys it, although not totally, because before For this to happen, Aphrodite puts herself in the middle and by summoning a whirlwind, with her Love, she can re-form life.
Two forces always in opposition, but necessary for the emergence of life. Other helpers of Aphrodite are therefore hate, envy (from the Latin in-videre, to see, look, therefore compare), revenge. The Goddess also needs all of this to fulfill her divine mission. Psyche in turn helps her because she finally brings her the beauty that she was missing and she couldn’t go looking for, the infernal beauty.
The cycle closes uniting the three forms of beauty, the divine of Aphrodite, the human of Psyche and the infernal of Persephone. Now yes, the Psyche is truly united to its essence, to its beauty, which goes beyond what is human, our destiny.
The creation of life and the psyche is a process that occurs every time in each of us, and not just once, but as a process throughout our lives. Let us invoke the Goddess, Aphrodite who emerged from the sea, from the sperm of the God of Time Cronos, from her foam, she reached the beach, the earth, so she will also lead us towards the evolution of consciousness. It will be a complicated journey but full of a beauty never imagined.
