Humans are living contradictions. We have opposing forces within us, and many times they either lead us into frustrating, unexpected situations, or they stop us from reaching our desires and goals. These opposites, either conscious or unconscious, can create situations of uncertainty, sabotage, and ambivalence. The true price of entering these situations is that we lose the ability to create new life.
These and other topics will be explored through a simultaneous archetypal interpretation of the fairy tales of the Pied Piper of Hamlin, and Rapunzel. Along the way, we will examine what roles that self-sabotage, Jung’s concept of ambivalence, and the archetype of the child may play in the life of our inner oppositions. The seminar will include a writing exercise and an active imagination session, in order to locate the concepts in our own experiences.
