Psychosocial Wednesdays : Alan Vaughan | Multicultural Democracy in Psyche, the Judiciary, & the U.S. Political Economy

This presentation invites you to imagine a Multicultural Democracy in the United States from the archetypal-mythic perspective of the Kemetic-Egyptian goddess Maat. She represents truth, honesty, justice, and orderly judicial processes that integrate spirit and matter in law. In the presentation we will interrogate historiographic and psychological obstructions to the requisite foundation of a Multicultural Democracy in achieving “the good and just society”. This is done through the lens and discussion of: the Cress theory of color confrontation and racism; the great replacement theory; critical race theory; and obstructionist partisan Constitutional reforms to electoral politics enacted by the U.S. Supreme Court. The question for us to consider is: how might Analytical psychology support the imagined ideals of a Multicultural Democracy and the “good and just society”?
