Healthy body, healthy mind? The concept of the mind-body relationship developed by Carl Gustav Jung describes the interaction of the psyche and the immune system and helps, for example, to overcome inappropriate ideas of guilt. Illnesses, on the other hand, can be an expression of conflicts and repressed feelings. Therefore, anyone who treats physical illnesses or engages in health prevention must also take the psyche into account. Jung’s insights into emotions, imagination and the creative power of the psyche have informed current research into the effects of placebos. Based on all this knowledge, Daniel asks the question: What effects does psychotherapy have on the body?

Brief Overview:
More than a century ago, Freud gathered colleagues for Wednesday meetings that opened the world of psychoanalysis to a wide range of powerful ideas. Psychosocial Wednesdays are modeled on those Wednesdays and on Jung´s meetings at the Psychological Club, and feature speakers from various psychoanalytic traditions, schools, and associated fields.
