Overview

This course will explore aspects of religions that are ego-centric and based on projection of shadow; offers a Jungian perspective on what happens when ego becomes possessed by the “dark” energies of the Self. We will discuss different psychological phenomena and dynamics underlying the religious extremism and fundamentalism; show how the Self influences the way one holds onto the radical creed; will introduce some mythological and clinical parallels, and explore our own feelings when confronted with Dark religion.
