What Does the Digital Age Mean for Jungian Practice?

Extended Deadline: Conference on Digitalization and Analytical Psychology

The International Association for Jungian Studies (IAJS) and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP) have extended the submission deadline for their upcoming conference “Digitalization and Analytical Psychology,” taking place August 27-29, 2026 at University College London. Proposals are now due by February 15th, 2026.

The conference addresses one of the most pressing questions facing contemporary analytical psychology: how does the field maintain its therapeutic depth and relational core in an increasingly digital world? Moving beyond the pandemic-driven necessity of online practice, the conference seeks to examine digitalization itself—from AI and online gaming to the unconscious meanings embedded in our technological transformations.

Key questions guiding the conference include: How does digitalization impact the therapeutic contract and relationship? What are the unconscious meanings of our digital tools? How does technology used for political purposes exacerbate cultural complexes? Building on a scholarly tradition examining technology and communication that reaches back to Jung himself, the conference invites Jungian, post-Jungian, and interdisciplinary perspectives on these urgent contemporary challenges.

Proposals should be submitted to iajswelcome@gmail.com by the extended deadline of February 15th, 2026. Proposals should be submitted in English as Word documents. Each abstract should not exceed 300 words and must include a brief biographical note about the presenter(s), their contact details, and professional or academic affiliations. Presenters are limited to one submission each. More information is available here.
