Some analysts have raised concerns that sexuality seems to have moved out of psychoanalysis. The handling of erotic transference and countertransference can be challenging with adult patients, but also with adolescent analysands. Only relatively recently are clinicians, particularly women, publishing in this area. I argue that silence about hot feelings in the consulting room has led to silence in case discussions and subsequent silence in the literature. I will consider what I call open-bodiedness on the part of the analyst. The use of reverie is described. The obstacles of publication and post-publication anxiety are discussed.
