Speaker

Prof. Wils is a philosopher and theologian. He has long dealt with issues related to the end of life, euthanasia, suicide, and death. He has also researched particular attitudes and approaches related to these ultimate questions, such as letting go , non -doing, and indulgence . Mr. Wils is the editor of an anthology on the topic of the ability to stop .

For several years now, Jean-Pierre Wils’s thinking has focused on the crisis-ridden present and its possible future, and thus on questions that are highly relevant to our depth psychological and Jungian work.

Although the orientation towards meaning and also a telelogical orientation were already important aspects of CG Jung’s therapeutic approach, terms such as meaning, hope and consolation are hardly anchored in an increasingly technicistic therapeutic terminology, or they are formatted into a marketable lightweight by representatives of the so-called “positive psychology”.

By bridging the gap between depth psychology and philosophy, this weekend seminar continues the tradition of the Working Group for Analytical Psychology and Philosophy , led for many years by Elke Metzner, Martin Schimkus, Angelica Löwe, and Roman Lesmeister . We are therefore delighted to have found a suitable venue for our venture at short notice, the Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt. Accommodation is also available on-site during the seminar
